列出所有屬性,找合適的部分做改變

  • 在此時發想的數量是重點
  • 盡可能越詳細越好

描述屬性常用的方法為:程序、功能、社交型的、價錢

一些“描述型”的屬性像是:質地、品味、顏色、結構、物質、聲音、氣味、空間、密度

一些常用“程序型”屬性:行銷、製造、販賣、功能、時間

一些常用“社交型”屬性:社交、政治、刺青

一些常用“價錢型”屬性:工廠、批發商、零售商成本

舉個例子來說:

像是「Youtube影片」屬性可分成這樣:

  • 故事內容
  • 觀看次數
  • 影片長度
  • 演員
  • 後製時間
  • 風格

為了產出更好的影片,專注在每個屬性上並嘗試去改善它

觀眾喜歡這類型的影片嗎?我能改善影片觀看次數嗎?

演員的演技如何呢?影片能準時完成嗎?

從各個屬性來觀看拆解「影片」,我們變能遠離自己刻板印象,做出成效更好的影片。

 

The note of Story: Style, Structure, Substance, and the Principles of Screenwriting Chapter 1

Story is about archetypes, not stereotypes.

Two typical and persistent kinds of failed screenplay.

  1. “personal story” bad script(The writer see what is visible factual, he is blind to the truth of life)
  2. The “guaranteed commercial success,” is an over-structured, overcomplicated, overpopulated assault on the physical senses that bear no relationship to life whatsoever.

Story is metaphor for life.

Sensory and imaginative are powers prerequisite to creativity.
Writing also demand two singular and essential talents.

  1. The first is literary talent– the conversion of ordinary language into a higher, more expressive form, vividly describing the world and capturing its human voices.Literary talent is, however, common.
  2. The second is story talent– the creative conversion of life itself to a more powerful, clearer, more meaningful experience.

The material of literary talent is words; the material of story talent is life itself.

Story talent is primary, literary talent secondary but essential. Only by using everything and anything you know about the craft of storytelling can make your talent forge story.

List the various attributes of a problem and work on one attribute at a time.

  1. comprehensive as possible
  2. quantity is more important at this point

Some common ways to describe attributes are descriptive, process, function, social, price and ecological.

Common descriptive attributes are: substance, structure, color, shape, texture, sound, taste, odor, space, and density.

Common process attributes are: marketing,  manufacturing, selling, function, and time.

Common social attributes are: responsibilities, politics, and taboos.

Common price attributes are: cost to manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer, and consumer.

For example:

Attributes of a “YouTube video”:

  1. story
  2. views
  3. length
  4. actor
  5. production time
  6. style

To produce a better video, focus on each specific attribute and try to improve it.

Do audience like this type of story? Could I improve the views of this video?

How about the actor?  Could the video be delivered on time?

By examining the “video” as a separate attribute , we could move away from our stereotypic label of a video and come up with a better video.
